Unlike Luther, Calvin believed the Jews were violating God's original design by engaging in polygamy. According to Calvin:
For he [God in Malachi 2:15] there treats of conjugal fidelity, which the Jews were violating by their polygamy. For the purpose of correcting this fault, he calls that pair, consisting of man and woman, which God in the beginning had joined together, one man, in order that every one might learn to be content with his own wife (John Calvin, Holy Spirit in Genesis 1).

God is very pro-polygamy. This is very clear in all the Bible.

2 Sam 12:8 God clearly say that HE GOD gave king David all his many wives and if he want more he could as many as he wanted. This is from God himself.
Solomon clearly understood this SOS 6:8 he has 140 wives and concubines and had unlimited single women available to him.

At creation God gave Sexual freedom to all creation. When you study creation this is very clear. All plants have sexual freedom. All animals have sexual freedom. All humans have sexual freedom. All creation has sexual freedom. God built into all creation to have sexual freedom. This is God's design. God created sex and sexual pleasure for all to enjoy. People with corrupt minds can't believe God is pro-sexual freedom.

In Ex 31 God himself gave 16,000 girls as concubines to 12,000 soldier. Clear to do the math many will get more then one concubine and most men would have wives also. God himself is clearly promoting polygamy.
The law was is a bother die that the brother would take care of the brother's wive and get her pregnant. So think about it, if a brother has 7 other brothers and all dies in battle then that one brother would be force to marry all 7 wives and get all of them pregnant and take care of them by God's Law. God forces them to be polygamy.
